This is false! Einstein’s equation implies that a small amount of mass can be converted into a huge amount of energy. For example, my mass (~125 kg) if converted to energy would release approximately 11.2 exajoules (1.12 x 10^19 J), or enough energy to power the whole United States for about 45 days.
