Imagine you have two containers of gas, one lable of gas a and one lable of gas b. gas a has average speed of 700m/s and gas b has an average speed of 1100m/s. both container are being held at the same temperature. how could you matach the average speed of gasa and gas b?

we are having two cointainers A and B we know that speed of A and B 700m/s and 1100 m/s .

we know that temperature rise will increase the speed of molecule now we have to match the average speed of A and B so here possiblities one is reducing the temperature of container B so the speed will be reduced from 1100 and the temperature of both container will be same now .

the ideal gas law equation is as follows

pv = nrt

where p - pressure

v - volume

n - number of moles

r - universal gas constant

t - temperature

so if the pressure, volume and temperature are already known

we are left with n and r

since r is the universal gas constant that has a known fixed value then r too is known

so we are left with 'n'

once we know temperature volume and pressure

we can find the number of moles of gas present using the ideal gas law equation
