HELP HEL PLEASE Experience the life of a BAU (Behavioral Analysis Unit) investigator and investigate the main suspect. Use the details given to characterize the suspect using information from the presentation(type of liar, type of manipulator, body language). Assess these factors and give your analysis of the suspect. What could these factors show about the suspect ( statements that relate to the case and his personality)? *based on the story and initial interrogation of Scott Peterson*

*Background Information: Scott Peterson in his late 20s was married to Laci Peterson in her mid-20s. Laci was 8 months pregnant at the time of the events. According to friends and family, Peterson was a very calm and composed person who was easy to get along with and never confrontational. Laci was an out-going and bubbly person. They seemed to have a very happy marriage. They tried to have a child for 3 years and then received a positive pregnancy test. 8 months later Scott has an affair with a girl named Amber. The girl is unaware of Scottā€™s marriage. And Laci is unaware of the girl. Finally he reveals this to Laci. According to interviews, Laci took this rather well. Amber did not know however. He had done this previous to his marriage with Laci with other girls who have come forward on record. He had a history of cheating. In this time he secretly buys a boat, and starts researching how certain water currents flow in the San Francisco Bay which he says is in regard to fishing. Fast forward to the 24th of Christmas. Scott goes fishing leaving his 8 month pregnant wife at home and when he comes back Lacy is not home. After that he says he ate some pizza and then proceeded to call Laciā€™s mom and tell her she is missing. He did not search for her or investigate her absence, but assumed that Laci went missing.*

*During the investigation: Scott Peterson during the entire interrogation is very casual and relaxed, unbothered. The interview takes place around midnight the day of Laciā€™s disappearance. Scott sits at the front of his seat with his hands placed forward stretched out on the table. Once the interrogator enters the room there is a sudden change in his body language. He leans back into the chair and draws his hands back in his jacket pockets. His voice/tone changes depending on topics. When talking about topics unrelated to his wife like for example during a point in the interrogation there was a question about a Mortiser which is a wood tool. During the discussion about the Mortiser tool, Scott utilizes his hands to explain how the tool works. But during different topics such as when the interviewer asked what his wife was wearing when he left his house, Scottā€™s tone changed and his voice became quieter. Again, during the interview he was undisturbed and unworried.*

Onsider the following subscription behavior information from genie, a web site that provides tools for constructing a family tree (ancestor search). subscriptions cost $9.99 per month, but you are charged for the entire year at the time of purchase. there is a one-year minimum term when you sign up for the service. once purchased, subscriptions are set to renew automatically unless the subscriber cancels them. when a membership renews, it renews for a one-year term and again you are charged for the entire year. there are no variable costs associated with providing this service to an individual customer, but genie does engage in customer relationship activities that they believe will increase customer retention. these customer relationship activities cost genie about $10 per year per customer. based on a sample of 1000 customers that joined genie five years ago, near the time when the company was founded, they were able to determine how many of those customers remained subscribers in the second year, third year etc. based on this information, genie calculated the average annual retention rate to be 20%. genie uses an annual discount rate of 8%. a. last year, genie spent $10,000 placing advertisements on google. genie management believes that these advertisements were responsible for about 300 new subscribers. would you recommend to genie management that they purchase more google ads? b. suppose a newly-introduced loyalty program increases the number of customers that remained to 30%. does this new data change your answer to 9.a? c. do you have any hesitations or concerns about making recommendations to management based on your above estimate of customer lifetime value?

Google started as one of many internet search engines, amazon started as an online book seller, and ebay began as a site where people could sell used personal items in auctions. these firms have grown to be so large and dominant that they are facing antitrust scrutiny from competition regulators in the us and elsewhere. did these online giants grow by fairly beating competition, or did they use unfair advantages? are there any clouds on the horizon for these firms -- could they face diseconomies of scale or diseconomies of scope as they continue to grow? if so, what factors may limit their continued growth?
