(A spreadsheet containing the details on people, their skills, and availability, will be provided closer to the due date.) You are the project manager for a major application demovelopment effort. (Don't worry, you don't need to know anything about programming to do this project.) Unfortunately for you, the company has refused to fund a full-time project team. You are being given access to a number of people on a part-time basis, and a limited budget for temporary help when specific skills are needed. You can assume that if you do need to hire temporary contractors, the local labour market can provide you with people with the skills you want, but that you may not get much choice as to their quality.

So far you've kept your project more or less on schedule and on budget, but the next phase of the development effort is difficult and really should be a full-time effort: this is going to stress the company's capabilities and errors in this phase are going to lead to massive amounts of rework later on if you get it wrong.

Figure out the specific tasks required, and their relationships, setting timeframes, staff assignments, and (if you use outside contractors) budgets, and compose a PERT (program evaluation and review technique) diagram for the next phase of this project.

This can be done as an individual, or as a group.
