At the beginning of 2017, Pharoah Company acquired a mine for $680,200. Of this amount, $84,000 was ascribed to the land value and the remaining portion to the minerals in the mine. Surveys conducted by geologists have indicated that approximately 5,040,000 tons of the ore appear to be in the mine. Pharoah incurred $42,000 of development costs associated with this mine prior to any extraction of minerals. It also determined that the fair value of its obligation to prepare the land for an alternative use when all of the mineral has been removed was $17,000. During 2017, 1,010,000 units of ore were extracted and 840,000 of these units were sold.

Compute the total amount of depletion for 2017.

Because this market is a monopolistically competitive market, you can tell that it is in long-run equilibrium by the fact thatmr=mc at the optimal quantity for each firm. furthermore, a monopolistically competitive firm's average total cost in long-run equilibrium isless than the minimum average total cost. true or false: this indicates that there is a markup on marginal cost in the market for engines. true false monopolistic competition may also be socially inefficient because there are too many or too few firms in the market. the presence of the externality implies that there is too little entry of new firms in the market.
