First, let’s clarify what is a Cross-functional team. This team basically is a group of employees from different departments that work together.  

The Contributions that they can make to an organization are:

Deeper and more long-term solutions: A Cross functional team will use all the criteria available in order to propose a solution. Therefore, solutions won’t be oriented only from marketing perspective or finance perspective or IT perspective.

Less uncertainty in decision making: As more knowledge of different areas is used in the analysis of problems, the decision making will be more stable at it combines different points of view of the possible effects of a given decision.

Synergies: A synergies is the collaboration process that organically emerge when teams from different areas work together.
