What is your opinion of the balance of nature hypothesis? would the deer on the island be better off, worse off, or about the same without the wolves. defend your position

I think that the balance of nature hypothesis is a very sound one, despite sometimes it might not work out. However, in general, deer which wouldn't have  natural predator would for example overpopulate a certain area and then eat of too much grass which couldn't generate fast enough and would eventually lead to the deer dying out.
