If the alleles on chromosomes differ, these chromosomes are said to be chromosomal abnormalities. These abnormalities can be deleted chromosomes, mutated chromosomes, or chromosomes with one or two few pairs ( trisomomy or monosomy). When mitosis and meiosis occur, these pairs of chromosomes are copied and when this process is done incorrectly, it can result in chromosomal mutations/ abnormalities. When these are found in a karyotype, scientists and doctors can identify and diagnose genetic disorders.
