While caring for the patients, the nurses goes through a nursing process. This encompasses developing a plan and setting objectives for the patient. The nursing interventions are the actual actions and treatments done to help the patient to achieve the objectives, which are set for them.  

The nursing interventions comes under three prime categories, that is, those using interpersonal skills, those using cognitive skills, and those using technical skills. The selection of the type of nursing intervention depends upon the situation of the patient, that is, on the patient's dysfunction and functional needs.
