Suggest reasons for the acceleration in extinction rates in recent decades

The primary reason for the acceleration in extinction rates in recent decades is  HUMAN OVERPOPULATION.
 
Unchecked human population growth lead to various human activities that resulted to the accelerated extinction rates of species.

Humans destroy the natural habitats of animals and plants to build buildings and roads that will accommodate their growing numbers.

Destruction of forests, mountains, and bodies of water to satisfy human needs result to the imbalance of nature which also give rise to global warming.

Animals and plants have lost their habitats. They lost their means to live. They lost their food sources and they suffer and die because of humans irresponsible acts.
