genetic engineering is the process in which a short segment of dna is manually added to an organism. the main aim is to achieve the desired function or trait that are missing or it is not found in an organism previously.

by using the genetic engineering technique we can insert the gene of interest into an organism or can delete the mutated gene or faulty gene in order to cure genetic disease. gene therapy is given to an individual who suffer from genetic disease and cancer.
