How do environmental factors and genetic factors affect natural selection?

Environmental and Genetic factors are both incredibly complex structures, but all will create mutations of the species. The genetic variability created by mutations will be tested by natural selection, which can and will determine which characteristics are inherited in a population over time. 

Genetic factors can alter the offspring's looks, and sometimes the way they act.
