Chromosomes are found in the (i) of every living cell. They can be seen by (ii) a cell that is about to (iii). For each thread-like chromosome there is another one exactly like it; therefore chromosomes occur in (iv). Every body cell of a particular organism has the same (v) of chromosomes. For example, all humans have (vi) chromosomes in each body cell, made up of (vii) pairs. The cells of the garden pea have 14 chromosomes made up of (viii) pairs and those of the shrimp have 254 chromosomes, made up of (ix) pairs. The two chromosomes belonging to a matching pair are called (x) chromosomes.
