Explanation:

To put it simple, eggs can't evolve but animals or plants can. Specially they can cope up easily with their environment. Here chicken came from a certain organism, who might be very close to chicken. It is thought to be from dinosaurs. Some genetic activator(in short) was used in chicken embryo  they started to grow fangs in their beak.

So, we can say chicken came from an organisms physical change and let them lay eggs. but the eggs are unable to do those things.
