Chelsea is a chemist working with a research company trying to create a treatment for Alzheimer’s. Chelsea knows that this is a neurodegenerative disorder, in which the brain starts breaking connections between neurons over the course of a long period of time. Chelsea focuses her research on making precise measurements of the length of time a patient generally will undergo before the symptoms become severe. Her idea is to create a drug that can be administered just before the onset of severe symptoms, halting the effects altogether.
