EXPERIMENT #4 Freshwater sunfish are found in Florida in water that
is normally around 18°C. Scientists wanted to know
the effect of temperature on the rate of respiration.
The rate of respiration of a freshwater sunfish was
determined at different temperatures. The rate of
respiration was determined by counting the number
of times the gill covers of the fish opened and closed
during 1-minute intervals at the various
temperatures. The following data were collected.
1) What is the control group?
2) What is the experimental group?
3) What is the independent (manipulated) variable?
4) What is the dependent (responding) variable?
5) What conclusions can be drawn from this data?
