1. Consumers and producers both need nutrients to carry our life functions. On the other hand, producers are organisms that make their own food. Consumers are organisms that need to eat other organisms to obtain energy.

2. Decomposers play a critical role in the flow of energy through an ecosystem. They break apart dead organisms into simpler inorganic materials, making nutrients available to primary producers. Mold plays a big part in material biodegradation, enabling decay and rot necessary in all ecosystems.

3. The form of energy entering the food chain is sunlight, which is being taken by plants to produce glucose as their food energy. When it leaves the food chain, the energy is then heat.

4. The percentage of the energy stored by the grass that is passed onto the hawk is 1%

Consumers on the other hand are organisms in an ecosystem that don't make their own food and get the energy from consuming producers, primary consumers or secondary consumers. There are 3 different types of consumers, herbivores, carnivores and omnivores.

2.)    The roles of decomposers in an ecosystem is very crucial, they feed on dead and decaying bodies. Therefore these decomposers are in-charge or removing dead matter from ecosystem as well as giving energy back to the ecosystem, as where it started from.
