Heart failure is a chronic condition when the heart fails to work. Heart failure occurs when the muscles of our heart does not pump blood to the different parts of the body. It is caused due to the accumulation of fats in the arteries which causes them to narrow up the space for the blood flow.

Following are the sequence of steps that leads to a heart failure. They are :

-- The arteries are narrowed up due to the deposits of fats on their inner boundary wall.

-- It blocks the blood to flow freely to the different parts of the body. It can lead to heart attack.

-- As a result blood pressure increases and the cardiac muscle thickens.

-- The heart functions less efficiently, i.e. it does not properly pumps the blood.

-- The oxygen content is reduced in the body and thus heart failure occurs.
