Many butterflies in the genus Heliconiusare mimetic, which means that they closely mimic the wing patterning and color of highly poisonous species even though they themselves are not poisonous. This is a benefit because many predators (such as birds) learn to avoid poisonous species by identifying their wing patterns/colors. Some closely related Heliconius species mimic different poisonous species. Although they can successfully hybridize and produce viable/fertile offspring that have high fitness in the laboratory, the hybrids are intermediate in wing patterning/color and are not good mimics. Consequently, they have low fitness in nature. This is an example of:

In sweet pea, gene c is responsible for color production and gene p is responsible for the purple color pigment. both of them are located on two different loci on different chromosomes. the flowers will be purple only when the plant has the genotypes as c_p_. no color will be produced with genotypes: ccpp, ccpp, ccpp, ccpp. thus, gene c controls the expression of gene p. what pattern of inheritance is exhibited here? a. pleiotropy b. epistasis c. multiple alleles

Subduction zones form when an oceanic plate collides with another oceanic plate or continental plate. the continental crust is lighter and less dense than oceanic crust. continental crust's density is approximately 2.7 grams per cubic centimeter. oceanic crust is thinner and the average density is about 3.3 cubic centimeters. when the two crustal plates converge the oceanic plate always bends and subducts beneath a continental plate. once the oceanic crust subjects, the rocks are subjected to changes in heat and pressure. because of this, we would expect to find rocks in the area of a subduction. a) clastic b) igneous c) metamorphic d) sedimentary
