The neurons of area are important for the analysis of color.

The neurons of area V4 are important for the analysis of color. The area characterized as the color area is Area v4. This is said to be the where the color is further processed. Because of the strength of the color receptive field in its neurons, this is the reason why v4 is an area of interest.  Initially, Zeki introduced v4 to be solely involved in processing of color but then this was proved to be incorrect. Later, it was found out that v4 is responsible for processing both color and at the same time form associated with color.  In the extended v4 occur in color modules called globs.
