Why is the human brain not considered to be a living organisms

The human brain is not considered to be a living organism as it depends on the other organs to assure its survival.

For example, it needs the chemical energy delivered by the ingestion of food (more specifically, the consumption of glycogen) in order to discharge and process neural stimuli.
