Hen you are in the resistance stage of stress, your body is damage caused by the alarm stage.

There are five stages of stress:
The first stage of stress is the body's defense mechanism - the alarm reaction.
The second stage is the resistance stage (breakdown or repair). Anti-inflammatory hormones (cortisol), are secreted in order to control the inflammation and vitamins are need (Vitamin A, C,  B1,...) and minerals (potasium, iron, magnesium,...).
After this comes the recovery stage, then the adaptation stage and at the end the exhaustion stage (the burnout).
So, when Hen is are in the resistance stage of stress, his body is repairing the damage by the alarm stage.
