Organisms in an ecosystem require energy for their life functions. This energy is derived when they feed on one another in a feeding pattern called FOOD CHAIN. A food chain always starts with a PRODUCER, which is an autotrophic organism that makes its own food via sunlight energy. Hence, the energy flow starts with these producers. Organisms called PRIMARY CONSUMERS feed on the producers and the energy moves to them.

Another set of organisms called SECONDARY CONSUMERS feed on the primary consumers and the energy moves again. sheep is a herbivore animal whereas grasshopper belongs to the class chordates but both of them feed on greens.  

if grasshopper and sheep feeding on a pasture land, i do not think both of them will have any impact on each other. however, the number of the species can make difference. since sheep feed on greens, there is a possibility there left no pasture land for the grasshoppers or they may get extinct.
