Different species within a phlyum all the same basic blank

Different species within a phylum all have the same basic anatomy. This similar anatomy allows them to compete and exist in a environment that remains constant. 

These species are related through anatomy because they are in the same phlyum. when taking biology last year i had a hell of a time grasping this material and hope this will help.
