Mendel's law of assortment state's that when two or more characteristics are inherited, individual hereditary factors assort independently during gamete production, giving different traits an equal opportunity of occurring together. So I guess that means that this is true, because as you should know, we have 46 total chromosomes, so that means that we get 23 chromosomes from one parent, and the other 23 chromosomes from the other parent. Then, once you have gone from embryo to fetus, you are getting your 46 chromosomes and in which they are mixed to give you your qualities of who you are, and now that you are born, you have traits from both of your parents.
