Proteins in your cells access the energy stored in ATP through pockets

known as binding pockets.

Protein such as enzymes have pockets known as binding pockets in which

they bind ATP to. When this happens, there is usually a conformational

change which occurs in the protein.

The binding of the ATP also results in the hydrolysis of the ATP into ADP for

use by the cells.
