The extraocular muscles and muscles of the mastication are the face muscles. The extraocular muscles are also called as extrinsic muscles of the eyeball. The extraocular muscles are connected with the eye orbit and helps in controlling the movements of the eye. There are seven extraocular muscle.  The four rectus muscles named as superior, medial, lateral and inferior. The two oblique muscles are superior and inferior muscles. The seventh extraocular is the levator which causes the elevation of the upper eyelids.

The muscles of mastication helps in movement of the teeth during grinding and mixing of the food. There are four mastication muscles - the masseter, medial pterygoid, lateral pterygoid and temporalis.
