Theropithecus lived in Africa at the end of the Pliocene and the early Pleistocene. It had two premolars in each mouth quadrant and bilophodont molars. Its teeth indicate an unusual diet that emphasized grasses. It had larger canines and a much larger body size than its living primate relatives.
