Sue has been complaining about a bad knee for the past few months, particularly when she is going down stairs. She is an active middle-aged mom who regularly participates in tennis, jogging, and hiking. She visited an orthopedic surgeon last week who told her that he would "like to have a look at her knee joint." He also told her that her symptoms indicate damage to the meniscus, and it might have to be removed.
