added to the growing
RNA.
A GTP cap and poly
A tail is added to the
mRNA
A transcription
complex is formed in
the promoter region.
The mRNA is
exported (sent out)
from the nucleus to
the cytoplasm
RNA polymerase
releases the DNA
and RNA transcript at
termination
• Splicing removes the
appropriate parts of
the RNA transcript
