How might environmental conditions during growth lead to the differences in early versus late wood?

Adding a new girth to the tree is called a tree ring. The new wood that is formed recently presents near the outer part while the oldest rings are smaller and near the center. The different environmental condition caused differences in new and old woods that are given as follow:

-In mid-to-high-latitude regions form rings with light-colored ring forms whereas, in the late summer or fall, the ring is darker in color and form slowly

- water availability also affects the growth which leads to the differences in the early and latewood as in areas with limited water tree-ring patterns to reconstruct regional patterns of drought by scientists. It forms wider rings during wet and cool years, and narrower during hot and dry years.
