All living things need energy to carry out life functions. Photosynthesis and cellular respiration are two processes that are responsible for the production of usable energy in many organisms. These two processes are interrelated because the products of photosynthesis are used to fuel the process of cellular respiration and the products of cellular respiration are used to fuel the process of photosynthesis. Which of the following scenarios best demonstrates the interrelated nature of photosynthesis and cellular respiration?

In an aquarium the fish will produce the gas carbon dioxide which is used by the plants to produce oxygen. The oxygen is then used by the fish.

In the soil certain bacteria will convert nitrogen into a form that plants will use. When the plants shed leaves they are decomposed and the nitrogen returns back to the soil for the bacteria to use

On a coastline the seaweed will produce the gas carbon dioxide which is used by the oysters to produce oxygen. The oxygen is then used by the seaweed.

In the desert the presence of sunlight causes the desert sage plant to produce the gas nitrogen which is then used by the desert marigold plant to produce water vapor. The water vapor is then used by the desert sage plant

Lactase is essential for digesting lactose in milk. this enzyme is specific for this sugar. why? molecules and active sites vary in size; only properly sized molecules can fit.there is a precise compatibility between the active site and the lactose molecule.specificity refers to the action of the enzyme, such as hydrolysis, and relatively few molecules can be hydrolyzed.reaction-specific enzymes assume a fit by folding around the most numerous substrate molecules.
