Go to the OSHA website (www. osha. gov) and look up the laws and regulations governing agriculture. When you are done, share one of the laws with the class and explain why it is important. One of the laws or regulations that OSHA requires is that you have to be certified in whatever work field you are in to be able to have a job. You have to have a certificate saying that you meet the requirements and that OSHA has inspected your work place or facility. The reason that this is important is because if someone is selling products from an unsanitary place that consumers who buy that product can potentially be harmed. Also OSHA helps to protect cattle and other farm animals for example, If OSHA goes to inspect a farm and see that the animals living there are not well fed or they were harmed by the owner in any way than OSHA can shut their business down.
