Human p53 is a tumor-suppressor gene located on chromosome 17. The function of this gene is to prevent cells with damaged DNA from undergoing mitosis. What would most likely result if there were a mutation that decreased the function of the p53 gene?
Abnormal cells would continue to divide.
Damaged cells would attack healthy cells.
