How does heredity relate to dna

DNA controls what you look like and you get this from your parents. Heredity is a trait that you get from your parents that is in your DNA

ex. My dad and myself have brown eyes. That would be both in my DNA and Heredity

ex. My mom had blue eyes. That is just in my DNA because I do not have blue eyes
