Explanation:

The protist's contractile vacuole will be most active in hypotonic environment because it has lower concentration of solutes outside the cell than other solution which have salt particles which will allow water to constantly entering the cell through osmosis but the protist will counter this by it's contractile vacuole which let out water . The protist contractile vacuole will not hypertonic environment because it will cause the cell to shrink and lose water.
