Applied sciences are those which use scientific ideas and methods for practicing purpose. This means scientific knowledge is applied in industry and life. Examples of this are medicine and computer technology.

Social sciences are the ones who look into human behavior and practices. It can study people individually, like psychology, but also in groups, like sociology and social anthropology.

Some of the differences:

They have a different purpose – social sciences are made to examine some aspect of society and prove the theory, while applied sciences are turned to solving problems.Their starting ideas are different; social sciences come from curiosity and academic interest, while applied ones are focused on practice and evident change.People go into these fields with different ideas and drawn to different jobs.
