Evolutionary fitness is the ability of an individual to reproduce, it determines the survival rate of a species. An individual who does not reproduce has a low evolutionary fitness.

Seeds can be dispersed by wind, animals and insects. A small seed will travel faster, and can be easily moved this allows for easy dispersal to various environment where it can germinate although some would have been lost due to its small size, some damaged but because of the number of seeds produced that is high a larger percent will survival making them evolutionary fit while a seed that is relatively large will not travel as far as the small seed but because its fairly big the chances of getting lost or destroyed in process of dispersal is reduces this increase the chances of survival. Therefore, Both lots of small seeds and relatives large seed will have almost the same evolutionary fitness.
