In fact it is not just nuclear fusion and fission that  can  transform  matter  (or mass)into energy. any time  energy  is produced, some small amount of  matter  or mass isconverted into energy.

Dna strands are split apart to allow an opening for replication. the opening has two replication forks so synthesis goes toward them in 5' to 3' direction.

Well,what i learned was that unlike many other  endothermic  reactions,  photosynthesis  does not absorb energy as heat. instead, during plants absorb energy from sunlight to turn carbon dioxide and water into oxygen and glucose, which is a type of sugar molecule. the energy is stored in the glucose molecules, ready to be used when needed.
