Summarize Marguilis's theory in your own words

Lynn Margulis proposed the endosymbiotic theory. The theory states that eukaryotic cells evolved from a symbiotic relationship between free-living bacteria and a protist cell. A eukaryotic cell would go through phagocytosis and engulfs bacteria. This bacteria later evolved into either mitochondria or cholorplasts.

lysosomes contain a variety of enzymes, enabling the cell to break down various biomolecules it engulfs, including peptides, nucleic acids, carbohydrates, and lipids (lysosomal lipase). the enzymes responsible for this hydrolysis require an acidic environment for optimal activity. hope i !
