A student is studying how far room temperature water would squirt out of a plastic
milk carton when 4 mm holes are punched at different heights from the bottom of
the container
Describe which are the independent and dependent variables as well as indicates
the constants involved within the experiment and why those are the constants.

The independent variable is one whose value is often manipulated during the course of experiments and the effects produced by the manipulation is measured on the dependent variable.

Constants are variables whose values remain unchanged throughout the course of experiments.
