A sperm is a gamete male or a sex cell. It joins with the female gamete, called an ovule, to create a zygote. The process of formation is called fertilization.There are two parts to the sperm cell, the head and the tail. The  arrangement of the sperm makes it ideally built for the efficiency of its purpose. The tail of the sperm helps give it the momentum it needs to reach the egg cell, so that the embryo can be created first. The sperm develops a tail and sheds the excess cytoplasm of the shaft. When the sperm is full, the tail will spin like a propeller such that the sperm will move itself forward. Mitochondria in the linking component generates the energy ( ATP) required to travel.The sperm cell is made up of the head, body (mid-section) and tail. Each of these parts is equipped with different molecules and a smaller structure that enables the sperm to function properly as a whole. Mature sperm cell (sperm cells) is 0.05 milliliters wide. It's made up of the head, body and tail. The head is covered by the ac-cap and contains a dense genetic material nucleus of the 23 chromosomes.
