Interphase is further divided into three sub-phases- i) G1 phase , which is interval between mitosis and beginning of DNA replication; ii) Systhesis phase (S-Phase), where DNA synthesis takes place; iii) G2 phase or Second growth phase, where formation of RNA and proteins continues, it also prepares the cell to undergo mitosis.
