How does the soil-based view of the phosphorus cycle compare/contrast with the global-view of the phosphorus cycle?

Explanation:

It doesn't change much because as opposed to other mineral cycles, phosphorus does not have a gas compound and thus there is not a significant storage of phosphorus in the atmosphere. Under such scenario, whatever  phosphorus can be found in the atmosphere such as windborne soil particles or pollen grains becomes important. A third component that needs to be mentioned is the ocean. River runoff is the main source of phosphorus input to the ocean from which phytoplankton incorporates it into the food chain.
