Synthesis of proteins (translation) takes place in ribosomes. It is a molecular machine that accepts amino acids and makes proteins of them. Transfer RNA carries amino acids to the ribosome for protein synthesis. Anticodons of tRNA pair with codons of mRNA at the bottom of ribosomes. If the bases on two different RNAs are complementary, the amino acid disconnects from tRNA, and in ribosome, it is bound to the previous amino acid in the process of translation.
