Phototropism is a biological reaction in plants to react based on the source of the light energy they receive.  It's especially observable on plants growing inside a building, with light coming from limited direction, for example your flower pot sitting on the window sill.

A positive phototropism will have the plant/flower growing towards the source of the light.  Over time, the stem of the plant will curve to maximize the light input coming from that limited angle source.
