Will give 30 points (by the way this is flvs) question 1(multiple choice worth 3 points) (01.03 lc) which of these best describes a societal law? a rule made by a government a statement about how things act in the natural world a statement which is always true under the same conditions a statement which describes a specific relationship under given conditions question 2(multiple choice worth 3 points) (01.02 mc) a student made the table shown to list some contact and non-contact forces. examples of forces contact forces non-contact forces the force applied by a magnet on an iron nail the force applied by an electromagnet on a wire the force applied by a student on a door to open it the force applied by the planets on each other which statement best explains why the table is incorrect? magnetic force is a force acting at a distance. the student applies a non-contact force on the door. the electromagnet and wire have to be in contact to apply the force. gravitational force acts between planets only when they are in contact. question 3(multiple choice worth 3 points) (01.06 lc) which factor can decrease the kinetic energy of an object? increase in speed decrease in speed increase in temperature decrease in volume question 4(multiple choice worth 3 points) (01.02 mc) a group of students is investigating whether air resistance depends on the size of an object. the students throw two paper pieces each with the same force. one piece of paper is flat and the other is scrunched into a ball. the distance traveled by each paper piece is shown. experimental observations student 1 student 2 student 3 student 4 distance traveled by flat paper 0.2 m 1.2 m 1.5 m 0.8 m distance traveled by scrunched paper 1.5 m 2.4 m 3 m 2 m what was the test variable (independent variable) in this experiment? distance traveled by flat paper the shape of the paper distance traveled by scrunched paper the number of students question 5(multiple choice worth 3 points) (01.01 lc)

Rease is an enzyme used by plants to break down urea (a nitrogen-containing compound) into carbon dioxide and ammonia. urease urea > > > carbon dioxide and ammonia ammonia is broken down by plants into a nitrogen source plants need to grow. thus, plants could not use urea as a nitrogen source unless it was first converted to ammonia. in soybean plants there are two different kinds of urease, one produced in the seeds and the other produced in the leaves of the plant. three types of soybean plants were used in a set of experiments: normal soybeans and two mutant strains, one lacking the urease in the seeds only (strain 1) and one lacking urease in the leaves only (strain 2). experiment 1 separate areas in a field were planted with normal, strain 1, and strain 2 soybeans. all types of soybeans appeared to grow, flower, and produce seeds equally well. there were no externally detectable differences among the strains. experiment 2 small pieces of plant leaves of equal weight were obtained from each type of soybean plant and separately placed on media in culture dishes. tissue growing in this way will become an unorganized clump of cells referred to as callus. to provide a controlled nitrogen source, half the tissue samples of each type were placed on media containing urea, and the other half of the samples were placed on media containing ammonia. after 30 days, the weight gain for each of the callus samples was determined. results are shown in the table below.
