-Common-vehicle exposure  is an outbreak occurs in the group of people who have eaten the food. single exposure  is when food may be served only once, for example, at a catered luncheon.

-Properties of a single-exposure, common-vehicle food borne outbreak includes;

-Such outbreaks are explosive; there is a sudden and rapid increase in the number of cases of a disease in a population.

-The cases are limited to people who share the common exposure. This is self-evident, because in the first wave of cases we would not expect the disease to develop in people who were not exposed unless there were another source of the disease in the community.
