What are three things that photographers can do to improve their photographs of animals?

One way a photographer could improve his/her photos is lighting. This will help to get the shodows right and to make to animal's complexion apear better. Another way  could be the location. Is=nstead of doing it in front of a green screen do it out in the nature. The finnal one could be the grooming of the animal different gromers do different things keep trying different stylists until you find someting you approve of.
