Ancient greek sculptors sometimes created cast sculptures from an alloy of copper and tin.

They created cast sculptures from bronze. It was more convenient, as the bronze would stay liquid for a longer time than copper. Many famous sculptures were made in this way: Euphranor's "Arthemis", "Zeus" from Artemisium,  "Charioteer" from Delphi, "Athena" from Piraeus, etc.
